Adrenal Insufficiency

Definition: Conditions in which the production of adrenal CORTICOSTEROIDS falls below the requirement of the body. Adrenal insufficiency can be caused by defects in the ADRENAL GLANDS, the PITUITARY GLAND, or the HYPOTHALAMUS.  do not confuse with ADRENAL GLAND HYPERFUNCTION
