Definition: An inheritable change in cells manifested by changes in cell division and growth and alterations in cell surface properties. It is induced by infection with a transforming virus.  do not confuse with CYTOPATHOGENIC EFFECT, VIRAL: see scope notes; DF: CELL TRANSFORM VIRAL
