Definition: A normally saprophytic mitosporic Chaetothyriales fungal genus. Infections in humans include PHAEOHYPHOMYCOSIS; and PERITONITIS.. Exophiala jeanselmei (previously Phialophora jeanselmei) is an etiological agent of MYCETOMA.  infection: in general coordinate IM with PHAEOHYPHOMYCOSIS (IM) but consider also CHROMOBLASTOMYCOSIS; infection caused by Exophiala jeanselmei: consider MYETOMA    Other names Wangiella; Phialophora jeanselmei; Phialophora gougerotii; Cladosporium werneckii; werneckius, Cladosporium; werneckii, Cladosporium; jeanselmeus, Phialophora; jeanselmeus, Exophiala; jeanselmei, Phialophora; jeanselmei, Exophiala; gougerotius, Phialophora; gougerotii, Phialophora; Wangiellas; Phialophora jeanselmeus; Phialophora gougerotius; Exophialas; Exophiala jeanselmeus; Cladosporium werneckius; Exophiala jeanselmei
