Hemoglobin C

Definition: A commonly occurring abnormal hemoglobin in which lysine replaces a glutamic acid residue at the sixth position of the beta chains. It results in reduced plasticity of erythrocytes.  /urine: coord IM with HEMOGLOBINURIA (IM); DF: HBC    Other names C, Hemoglobin
