Plasminogen Activators

Definition: A heterogeneous group of proteolytic enzymes that convert PLASMINOGEN to FIBRINOLYSIN. They are concentrated in the lysosomes of most cells and in the vascular endothelium, particularly in the vessels of the microcirculation.  /antag: consider also PLASMINOGEN INACTIVATORS
