Receptors, Androgen

More information in Books or onNLM PubMed
Definition: Proteins, generally found in the CYTOPLASM, that specifically bind ANDROGENS and mediate their cellular actions. The complex of the androgen and receptor migrates to the CELL NUCLEUS where it induces transcription of specific segments of DNA.      Other names Androgen Receptors; alpha-Dihydrotestosterone Receptor, 5; Stanolone Receptors; Receptor, Stanolone; Receptor, Androgen; Receptor, 5 alpha-Dihydrotestosterone; Androgens Receptors; 5 alpha Dihydrotestosterone Receptor; Testosterone Receptor; Stanolone Receptor; Receptors, Stanolone; Receptors, Dihydrotestosterone; Receptors, Androgens; Receptor, Testosterone; Dihydrotestosterone Receptors; Androgen Receptor; 5 alpha-Dihydrotestosterone Receptor
