Receptors, Transferrin

Definition: Membrane glycoproteins found in high concentrations on iron-utilizing cells. They specifically bind iron-bearing transferrin, are endocytosed with its ligand and then returned to the cell surface where transferrin without its iron is released.  DF: RECEPT TRANSFERRIN
