Definition: A mucoprotein found in the cell wall of various types of bacteria. It has adjuvant and antitumor activities and has been used to augment the production of lymphokine-activated killer (LAK) cells.  restrict to bacteria; a mucoprotein of the bact cell wall: do not confuse with CYTOSKELETON, a network within the cytoplasm; coord IM with specific bacterium /ultrastruct, /chem or other pertinent qualif
