Poly(A)-Binding Proteins

More information in Books or onNLM PubMed
Definition: Proteins that bind to the 3' polyadenylated region of MRNA. When complexed with RNA the proteins serve an array of functions such as stabilizing the 3' end of RNA, promoting poly(A) synthesis and stimulating mRNA translation.  GEN; prefer specifics; note species-specific terms in SCR
Examples Poly(A)-Binding Protein I; Poly(A)-Binding Protein II
Other names Poly A Binding Proteins; Poly A Binding Protein; Poly(A)-Binding Protein; Poly(A)+ mRNA Binding Protein; Poly A-Binding Proteins; Poly A-Binding Protein
