Definition: A genus of gram-negative, chemolithoautotrophic bacteria in the family Halothiobacillaceae. Several of its species were reclassified to this genus from THIOBACILLUS.      Other names Thiobacillus neapolitanus; Halothiobacillus neapolitanus
