Dihydrodipicolinate Reductase

Definition: An enzyme that catalyzes the oxidation of 2,3,4,5-tetrahydrodipicolinate to 2,3-dihydrodipicolinate using NAD(P)+ as a cofactor. It is found in BACTERIA and higher plants involved in the biosynthesis of DIAMINOPIMELIC ACID and LYSINE.      Other names Reductase, Dihydrodipicolinic Acid; Reductase, Dihydrodipicolinate; Acid Reductase, Dihydrodipicolinic; Dihydrodipicolinic Acid Reductase
