More information in Books or onNLM PubMed
Definition: A subclass of repressor proteins that do not directly bind DNA. Instead, co-repressors generally act via their interaction with DNA-BINDING PROTEINS such as a TRANSCRIPTIONAL SILENCING FACTORS or NUCLEAR RECEPTORS.
Examples DAX-1 Orphan Nuclear Receptor; Nuclear Receptor Co-Repressor 1; Nuclear Receptor Co-Repressor 2; Sin3 Histone Deacetylase and Corepressor Complex
