Definition: Ubiquitously-expressed tetraspanin proteins that are found in late ENDOSOMES and LYSOSOMES and have been implicated in intracellular transport of proteins.  note CD63 antigen may be referred to in the literature as "lysosomal-associated membrane protein 3" however they are separate and distinct proteins    Other names CD63 Antigens; Antigen, CD63; Antigen ME491, Melanoma; Tetraspanin 30; Pltgp40; Platelet Glycoprotein 40 kDa; Melanoma Antigen ME491; LIMP-CD63; Granulophysin; CD63 Antigen
