Definition: Any adverse condition in a patient occurring as the result of treatment by a physician, surgeon, or other health professional, especially infections acquired by the patient during the course of treatment.  IM for general or as coord with specific iatrogenic dis; article must discuss dis as iatrogenic: do not routinely index adv eff of drugs or procedures as iatrogenic
