Definition: Imaging methods that result in sharp images of objects located on a chosen plane and blurred images located above or below the plane.  do not use /util except by MeSH definition; used for non-x-ray & non-radionuclide tomographies; echotomography seen in foreign lit is probably ULTRASONOGRAPHY & if so use "ultrasonics" or "ultrasonic diagnosis" or "ultrasonography" in translations & not
