2-Acetolactate Mutase

Definition: An enzyme involved in the biosynthesis of isoleucine and valine. It converts 2-acetolactate into 3-hydroxy-2-oxo-isovalerate. Also acts on 2-hydroxy-2-acetobutyrate to form 2-hydroxy-2-oxo-3-methylvalerate. EC 5.4.99.3.      Other names Acetohydroxy Acid Reductoisomerase; 2-Acetohydroxy-3-Ketoacid Isomeroreductase; Reductoisomerase, Acetohydroxy Acid; Mutase, 2-Acetolactate; Isomeroreductase, 2-Acetohydroxy-3-Ketoacid; Acid Reductoisomerase, Acetohydroxy; 2 Acetolactate Mutase; 2 Acetohydroxy 3 Ketoacid Isomeroreductase
