Definition: An induced response to threatening stimuli characterized by complete loss of muscle strength.  do not confuse with IMMOBILIZATION: restraining body movement or FREEZING REACTION, CATALEPTIC: cessation of body movement while maintaining an immobile posture via muscle rigidity
