More information in Books or onNLM PubMed
Definition: A mixture of very-low-density lipoproteins (VLDL), particularly the triglyceride-poor VLDL, with slow diffuse electrophoretic mobilities in the beta and alpha2 regions which are similar to that of beta-lipoproteins (LDL) or alpha-lipoproteins (HDL). They can be intermediate (remnant) lipoproteins in the de-lipidation process, or remnants of mutant CHYLOMICRONS and VERY-LOW-DENSITY LIPOPROTEINS which cannot be metabolized completely as seen in FAMILIAL DYSBETALIPOPROTEINEMIA.      Other names alpha2 Very Low Density Lipoproteins; alpha2 VLDL Lipoprotein; alpha2 VLDL; Lipoproteins, alpha2-Very-Low-Density; Lipoproteins, Intermediate-Density; Lipoprotein, alpha2-VLDL; IDL Lipoproteins; IDL Lipoprotein; beta-VLDL Lipoproteins; beta-VLDL; alpha2-VLDL Lipoprotein; alpha2-VLDL; Lipoproteins, Intermediate Density; Lipoprotein, IDL; Intermediate-Density Lipoproteins; Intermediate Density Lipoproteins; Floating beta-Lipoproteins; Broad-beta Lipoproteins; beta-Very-Low-Density Lipoproteins; alpha2-Very-Low-Density Lipoproteins
