Definition: A degenerative spinal disease that can involve any part of the VERTEBRA, the INTERVERTEBRAL DISK, and the surrounding soft tissue.  coordinate with specific vertebra; do not confuse with SPONDYLOLYSIS or SPONDYLITIS
