Definition: An orphan nuclear receptor that is closely related to members of the thyroid-steroid receptor family. It was originally identified in NERVE CELLS, however it may play regulatory roles in a variety of other tissues.      Other names Nuclear Hormone Receptor NOR 1; Neuron derived Orphan Receptor 1; Translocated in Extraskeletal Chondrosarcoma Prote; Orphan Nuclear Receptor TEC; Nuclear Receptor NR4A3; Nuclear Hormone Receptor NOR-1; Neuron-derived Orphan Receptor 1; Mitogen Induced Nuclear Orphan Receptor
