Definition: The segment of LARGE INTESTINE between the CECUM and the RECTUM. It includes the ASCENDING COLON; the TRANSVERSE COLON; the DESCENDING COLON; and the SIGMOID COLON.  X ref TAENIA COLI: do not confuse with Taenia, a genus of tapeworm; inflammation
