Prostaglandins G

Definition: A group of physiologically active prostaglandin endoperoxides. They are precursors in the biosynthesis of prostaglandins and thromboxanes. Most frequently encountered member of this group is the prostaglandin G2.  /biosyn /physiol permitted; for analogs, coord NIM with PROSTAGLANDIN ENDOPEROXIDES, SYNTHETIC (IM); /chem syn permitted: do not convert to PROSTAGLANDIN ENDOPEROXIDES, SYNTHETIC; DF: PGG    Other names PGG; G, Prostaglandins
