Babesia bovis

Definition: A species of protozoa that is a cause of bovine babesiosis. Ticks of the genera Boophilus, Rhipicephalus, and IXODES are the chief vectors.  infection: coordinate IM with BABESIOSIS (IM) + probably CATTLE DISEASES (IM); coordinate with specific protozoan terms (ANTIGENS, PROTOZOAN, etc) if pertinent    Other names bovis, Babesia; bovi, Babesia; Babesia bovi
