Definition: A genus of extremely thermophilic heterotrophic archaea, in the family THERMOCOCCACEAE, occurring in heated sea flows. They are anaerobic chemoorganotropic sulfidogens.  a genus of archaea found in heated sea flows; PYROCOCCUS, found in heated seawater, is also available
