Definition: The E1 component of the multienzyme PYRUVATE DEHYDROGENASE COMPLEX. It is composed of 2 alpha subunits (pyruvate dehydrogenase E1 alpha subunit) and 2 beta subunits (pyruvate dehydrogenase E1 beta subunit).      Other names Pyruvate Dehydrogenase E1; Pyruvate Dehydrogenase-E1; Pyruvate Dehydrogenase Component E1; Pyruvate Decarboxylase (Lipoamide)
