Collagen Type XVIII

Definition: A non-fibrillar collagen found in BASEMENT MEMBRANE. The C-terminal end of the alpha1 chain of collagen type XVIII contains the ENDOSTATIN peptide, which can be released by proteolytic cleavage.  precursors: coord IM with PROCOLLAGEN (IM)
