Definition: A 97-kDa extracellular signal-regulated MAP kinase. Mitogen-activated protein kinase 6 levels increase during cellular differentiation, while in proliferating cells the enzyme is degraded rapidly via the PROTEASOME ENDOPEPTIDASE COMPLEX.      Other names Mitogen Activated Protein Kinase 6; MAPK6 Mitogen Activated Protein Kinase; Kinase, ERK3; Extracellular Signal Regulated Kinase 3; p97MAPK Protein; p97(MAPK) Protein; MAPK6 Mitogen-Activated Protein Kinase; ERK3 Kinase; Extracellular Signal-Regulated Kinase 3
