Sphingosine N-Acyltransferase

Definition: An enzyme that catalyzes the acyltransferase of SPHINGOSINE to N-acylsphingosine using acyl-COENZYME A as donor and COENZYME A as acceptor. The enzyme is mainly localized in the MITOCHONDRIA.      Other names Synthetase, Ceramide; Sphingosine N Acyltransferase; N-Acyltransferase, Sphingosine; Fatty Acyl CoA Sphingosine Acyltransferase; Acyltransferase, Sphingosine; Sphingosine Acyltransferase; Fatty Acyl-CoA - Sphingosine Acyltransferase; Ceramide Synthetase
