Definition: A dual specificity phosphatase subtype that plays a role in intracellular signal transduction by inactivating MITOGEN-ACTIVATED PROTEIN KINASES. It has specificity for EXTRACELLULAR SIGNAL-REGULATED MAP KINASES and is primarily localized to the CYTOSOL.      Other names Phosphatase, MKP3; Phosphatase, MKP-3; Mitogen Activated Protein Kinase Phosphatase 3; MKP 3 Phosphatase; Mitogen-Activated Protein Kinase Phosphatase 3; MKP3 Phosphatase; MKP-3 Phosphatase; MAP Kinase Phosphatase 3; Dual Specificity Protein Phosphatase 6
