Muscular Dystrophies

Definition: A heterogeneous group of inherited MYOPATHIES, characterized by wasting and weakness of the SKELETAL MUSCLE. They are categorized by the sites of MUSCLE WEAKNESS; AGE OF ONSET; and INHERITANCE PATTERNS.  GEN: prefer specifics; do not confuse with MYOTONIC DYSTROPHY
