Definition: The infusion of leaves of CAMELLIA SINENSIS (formerly Thea sinensis) as a beverage, the familiar Oriental tea, which contains CATECHIN (especially epigallocatechin gallate) and CAFFEINE.  restrict to drink prepared from tea plant, CAMELLIA SINENSIS (formerly Thea sinensis); "teas" from other plants go under plant term (IM) + BEVERAGES (IM)
